Students studied the paintings of Van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, and Matisse; they then prepared reference photographs and drawings before producing these acrylic on wood panel paintings. It is interesting to see the many ways that the simple sunflower can be interpreted in paint. Students experimented with different colours, compositions, and brush strokes creating in the process some beautiful and original pieces.
