"StockSynth is a sketch for a sound synthesis program. Several layers of the same sound in different pitch are played simultaneously allowing the frequencies to join. The user is in total control over the synthesis where tone, volume and panning of each layer can be manipulated visually." About the artist: "After finishing the MA Design for Interactive Media at Middlesex University, Enrike Hurtado, together with some colleagues created ixi (http://ixi-software.net). Ixi is a group of developers and musicians that are currently trying to push the boundaries of contemporary electronic music by creating new and non-conventional musical software. "Ixi's work has been exhibited in many international competitions and was selected for the MILIA 2002 new talent pavilion in Cannes, where it was highly recommended by the jury." Enrike Hurtado |

About the artist: Golan Levin is interested in creating artifacts and experiences which explore supple new modes of nonverbal expression. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees from the MIT Media Laboratory, where he studied with John Maeda in the Aesthetics and Computation Group.
