Piet Mondrian developed 'Neo-plasticism' - an abstract form of painting.  Using his ideas and techniques, students made their own compositions (acrylics on wood panel). Experiments using Microsoft Paint replaced the usual reference drawings.

This exercise helped students understand the way that basic design elements, such as colour, shape, and line, can work together to produce an effective composition.

The results were impressive.
